  • My Second Depeche Album

    4
    By Kel Lemieux
35 years ago, I bought this D. Mode album at the Riverfront Shopping Center in Littleton, Colorado. "Black Celebration" was my second purchase, after "Some Great Reward," and both dark synth albums have stuck with me ever since. Things got different in 1987 with the release of "Music for the Masses" and mainstream international fame came calling for Depeche Mode, the English music group with the French name. Many New Wave music acts got big that same year. Check each groups' response to this stimuli called the death of New Wave...

I bought and downloaded this album in the past. Now I can’t download it now but have to subscribe to Apple Music to get it. Complete fraud.
  • Good album but...

I will never understand the fetish fans have over Martin when he takes over lead vocals. His vocals are so annoying and I have skipped just about every Martin song after listening to it just only once. The only MG song that I love is The things you said. Otherwise, he is annoying for my ears.

This is not the album. It's a Frankenstein iTunes version of the album. Different volume and master on different songs, it's like they used the remastered single versions instead of the album, and the volume level is so jarring.....when I was a teen I found this cassette at Tower for 2.99. I was really looking forward to revisiting it, but F*CK YOU ITUNES.
  • NOT THE ACTUAL ALBUM

This is not the original. This is a disgrace. Put the original album up. In it's pristine version.

In the original album, Black Celebration, Fly on the Windscreen, and Question of Lust flow together in a gapless continuum. Also, the single version of Question of Lust and a remix of Question of Time have been put in place of the original album versions. The is an inexcusable adulteration of history! Please fix this absolute nonsense and put up a proper version of Black Celebration!!! This is not the "album". The original album would get 5 stars...this thoughtless patching together of tracks is ridiculous! PLEASE FIX!!!!
  • Where is the remaster?

iTunes please add the remastered extended version. Not sure why Black Celebration was skipped when you added all of the other deluxe remasters. (I'm giving it 5 stars for the album itself….but 1 star for this edition)
