What a magnificent way to remake a classic album. Unlike many cover albums, "Dubber Side" doesn't attempt to top or rip off of the original, but reworks it in a way that gives it fabulous instrumentation in a way that previously only appeared a psychedelic reggae fan's wildest dreams. Of the two Easy Star albums, this is my favorite due to the way the bass and drums just seem to reverberate into your soul and take you somewhere else. Once again, a marvelously done album that I would recommend to any fan of Pink Floyd, dub/regg, or both!

Seriously, an extraordinary adventure across the sonic reverb atmosphere. I'm a Jamerican, a child of Dub. I live for the reverb and don't suffer 'tin-pan' sound systems that don't understand how to properly craft the infectious echoed rhythms of Dub music. To think that the Easy Stars would be affected by not just the Pink Floyd original but (obviously) their own first adventure with that Rock classic to re-visit it and layer and enhance and "drum & bass it up!?" Awesome! If you already own any of these seminal Dub expressions: Burning Spear (Garvey's Ghost), 'Dubmissions II', Bad Brains (I and I Survive), Black Uhuru (Strongg Dubb) and more of the same (if you're a fan of Kruder & Dorfmeister), then this needs to be part of your collection!
  • Dubber Side is a Journey

With different treatments of Dub Side/Dark Side this is an album that should be listened to and savored. At the same time, you can imagine a long trip on the dance floor to some songs you would never think to dance to - Money by Liquid Agents. I like the suspension of time and place that this song brings - all is fully eclipsed.
  • Outstanding album

Just like the flaming lips easy star realizes this album was made to do and redo over and over. It only gets better. It's all in your mind. Pink Floyd was experimental so is this.
