This song was a major club staple in the late eighties. It's like these guys jumped into a DeLorean and brought this song back with them. This song was "electro" before the subgenre was coined. This song has more samples than a whole Puff Daddy album. And, they are sampled quite well. This song clearly inspired many electronic and industrial acts to follow, such as EMF, Jesus Jones, Orbital, Meat Beat Manifesto, The Prodigy and Renegade Soundwave. As a youth, I heard this song mixed and scratched often on the radio with acapellas from other songs such as Michael Jackson's "Bad" and Jody Watley's "Don't You Want Me". Though it offers little in the way of a vocal performance, MARRS more than makes up for that with the imagination and innovation evident in this song that can only be compared with other legendary electronic acts, such as The Art of Noise and Kraftwerk. Pump it up!
