This is one of my most favorite albums and also the first album I bought from Depeche Mode. After listening to this, I was a fan for life! 35 years later, I still love this album and the band. My favorite songs from this album is: Never let me down again, Strangelove, little 15, Behind the Wheel, I want you now and Pimpf.

Amazing album. The things you said is an underrated ballad, Strangelove is such a deep song, and NLMDA is one of the best DM songs. Who needs Violator? We have MFTM!

I remember the first time I heard Never Let Me Down Again back in 1987. It was featured in an episode of 21 Jump Street for those who remember FOX channel 5 Sunday night lineup before Married With Children took over. I think that episode was about a group of extreme thrill seekers out of control or something like that but as the opening credits rolled it said featuring music by Depeche Mode. To this day NLMDA remains one of my favorite DM songs.

This is one of the 4 DM albums must have. Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion. Their sound was very innovative during the 80's. They were part of the Second British Invasion in the 80's. One more note: ALAN WILDER.
