  • These guys are great

Just when you think no one does this kind of thing anymore... BAM!!! I am a huge Crusaders fan, maybe my most favorite "band" of all time. They invented Funk/Jazz. I stumbled on to the "Quinn Tet" as I got an ad request on my MySpace account. I check them out like I always do, but instead of just "adding them" to my friends list, I decided with in 10 seconds of the first tune that was streaming, to add them to my iTunes music library too. Lead by the Guitarist Dirk Quinn, he has the most beautiful old school gritty tube driven guitar sound around. The Band is very tight on every track. This album is how all future musicians should strive for in a recording project. Dynamic, funky, every track an adventure in texture and groove. And this album grooves!!! Buy this album and support great dedicated and skilled musicians at their best.
  • What's not to love?

I am a fan of Dirk Quinn Band-and it was this new release that turned me on. This cd is listed as  jazz. But I liken it to jazz meets funk meets rock meets jamband. First listen to Evil Birdman of Funk then Davel's Return. Now I'll tell you why I love this stuff. There is so much in this album that is unexpected least of all trumpet and steel drums. QuinnTet is action-packed, contradictory and fun. That's what sucked me in and blew me away. I heard his first cd, Dirk Quinn, and thought it was good. But I appreciate it so much more now that I have both QuinnTet and Dirk Quinn. They are so diverse and show the true scope of this artist.  He's got infectious guitar grooves, shows both creativity and diversity throughout the album in writing and arranging without compromising the album's story as a whole.    It's the kind of album I can listen to over and over without getting bored.  Can't wait for the next one!
