  • Not his fault

I hate all modern digitally recorded music. I can't listen to it for 30 seconds. Taj is a great artist, but as far as I'm concerned the whole digital revolution (the move to CDs, etc.) was the human race's greatest mistake of the 20th century. This album sounds harsh, jarring and unpleasant. It's actually bad for the listening part of the brain, and I'm not just voicing my own opinion. There is a lot of research that shows that your brain knows the difference between real sounds and fake ones, even if you can't consciously define what that means. Just listen to samples of Further On Down the Road from this album and from Giant Step, and you'll see what I mean. Treat your ears right, and if you're a musician, treat your listener's ears right and go back to analog.
  • Great Blues

I purchased this album in 2010 (1yr ago) and absolutely love it. Every song is great!!! Makes me laugh, smile & sing. 'Slow Drag' is a good one to make you laugh - great story. 'Scratch My Back 'makes you want to sing & go to a blues lounge. 'I Can Make You Happy' Love it! I could go on and on. I even suggested Lever Let You Go to my niece for her wedding reception and everyone loved loved loved this song. Taj Im so glad I discovered your music. Sheri Bunch - GA

I've been listening to Taj since '69 and he never disappoints me. May not be for the blues purist, but I love it.

I've seen Taj Mahal so many times I can't remember. He is one of my favorites and this album is really great. I love the Reggae style of Black Man, Brown Man. All these tracks are very nice.
  • Still Doing It

Gotta love the voice and playfulness of Taj Mahal. This album is a great one for enjoyin some summer fun, and you gotta love the Jack Johnson cameo on Further on Down the Road, which Jack has been covering for years. Great work Taj!
  • Not his best, but better than most

And it's very good, but it's hard to do better than the Phantom Blues album. Those who recognize real music will appreciate this a little more than some. Taj Mahal and his music is not a fad or a trend.
  • Mr Mahal continues to make me love blues

    By Dr_B-man
Taj has never received the acclaim he deserves. Nevertheless this album continues to meld blues, Caribbean, R&B, and the gruffiest yet soulful voice there is. Taj deserves your ear, you will be pleasantly surprised!
