  • Beck's virtuosity displayed...

... in spades! This is my favorite guitar record period! It has the electronics, the blips and beeps, the rhythm that is modern, and soul and an uncanny energy. For as long as Jeff has been playing, he has surpassed his past, he plays for today. He will inspire for tomorrow, all those up-and-comer guitarists and those of us who recognize the Genius playing this ear candy. Amazing licks.
  • Got Guitar?

If you think so and haven't heard this, think again. As the liner notes of one of Jeff's early albums instructs: listen to this LOUD. It will take you away.
  • Beck is rock's mad doctor...

I've been listening to Jeff Beck for years... heck... decades and have always been amazed at his ability to lead the pack. Other guitar monsters come and go, but it's Beck who is creating them, heavily influencing their styles and showing them how it's done. He's laughing at the twists and turns of techo music on this album, slipping through all the knots and creating some great music as he does it. I love every song on the album because he shows he's the master of the guitar. Where we'd struggle to find the right note or keep in time he's flowing with it and speaking through his guitar. Simply amazing.
  • Too Hot to Touch!

    By 4XTC
Jeff is like a fine-tuned machine running at warp speed. Beck and band has forged an incredibly hot sound. So What, My Thing, Grease Monkey, Pork-U-Pine. All of these are both riveting and addicting. This also applies to Roy’s Toy, Dirty Mind, Loose Cannon and Left Hook from the album You Had It Coming. And the slow introspective instrumentals — JB’s Blues, Seasons, Suspension, Nadia — good God! — what finesse and beauty! It cannot be touched. Strictly for listening pleasure.

I think we all have those albums that sit in our library that we don't ever listen to. One day I dared to listen to this album and fell in love... END of story
  • An Unexpected Treat!!!

I actually checked this CD out at my public library. I thought I'd get some good 'ol rockin' blues. But boy was I suprised when I popped it in my player. Great stuff with a rockin' beat. Enjoy!
