Listen, I am not trying to be mean but I can't believe people still buy this stuff. DM is classic, they said it better than most, maybe even better than The Beatles or The Stones. But why should people pretend that their new work has the impact or beauty of their earlier works. Twenty years ago Depeche Mode changed music forever with albums like: A Broken Frame, Some Great Reward and Black Celebration, go spend your money on the newly remastered versions of these albums and listen to, It Doesn't Matter or The Sun and the Rainfall and see if you still like this garbage. If you are looking for artists who are changing music today you are going to have to look other places than the John the Revelator single.

These are the best! I do not actually have these songs, but they are like the exact same as the ones I have, by Toni Land. Can someone explain why these two artists have the same remixes? Otherwise, I can not stop singing these songs. I go around humming them lol!

Can someone explain to me why record labels like Mute commission tons of remixes and only make a few of them available to the public? When you look at the UK itunes, there is a smattering of remixes from this single and here in the US, we have this small batch to choose from. Weird. I guess American fans aren't worthy enough to spend money on the extras. Tiefschwarz, everyone's favorite remixer at the moment, doesn't do a bad job as their dub version is the best thing here. The Murk Mode mix is alright but the Murk Miami Mix is 100 times better and, of course, it's available on the UK site but not here. The UNKLE mix is flat out terrible. What the hell happened to James Lavelle?? Anyone remember when he and Mowax were the hippest things in the dance music world? How the mighty have fallen....HARD.

depeche mode has shown that they are still a force to be reconed with, these mixes have not only shown the good quality in songwriting that they have, but that they are in peak condition, ready for the battle and on point. john the revelator by far one of the best songs off playing the angel.

On every album since Violator (with the exception of Exciter) DM seems to push their sound by giving us that one song that is different for even them - Personal Jesus, I Feel You, Barrel of a Gun, and now John the Revelator. I've been counting the days for this single to come out and it doesn't disappoint. UNKLE RE Construction & Murk Mode are highlights for me. Tiefschwarz Dub reminds me of early Nitzer Ebb. In a Depeche Mode without Alan Wilder, this for me, is as good as it gets. 5 stars.
