I’d always been a casual fan of Taylor Swift. I purchased digital versions of most of her albums, but admit that I only put her most known radio singles on playlists if I liked them and didn’t listen to many of the other songs. When Folklore came out, I purchased it and actually listened to the entire album. I was amazed at the depth of her storytelling and her voices were mesmerizing. I listened to Folklore at least a couple times a day and it helped me deal with the pandemic. Then, I started listening to her other albums and couldn’t believe what I’d missed. So many of (IMO) songs had never been released as singles. I used to think she good. I then realized she’s a literal genius. Watching her live performances was such a treat, too. Then, by the time Evermore, Fearless TV, Red TV, and Midnights were released, I was a complete Swiftie. I absolutely loved the Eras tour and it was one of the most magical nights of my life. I thank Folklore for turning me into a Swiftie.

Favorite Taylor Swift album by farrr! So beautiful. The storytelling, love the trilogy of betty, august and cardigan. I watched the long pond studio sessions, and it was so cool to see the backstory from behind each song. I think it’s cool she stepped away from pop a little, and while I wouldn’t call it completely alternative, still amazing and different. With betty and last great american dynasty, I feel like she went back to her roots in country a little bit, which was amazing to hear. Ok, this review is getting way too long, and I could talk about folklore alllll day. So in short, go watch folklore the long pond studio sessions, and listen to the album! (Ps: Favorites are definitely betty, invisible string and last great american dynasty)

She always amazes me with each album. I still am awed by her lyrical genius and intimate way of storytelling.
  • One of her best albums ever created
