So! The title may be misleading, but it’s important to understand that the title is the inspiration, and the result is The Gift. Artist like Prince, Elton John and Phil Collins have done the exact same album concept; music inspired by a movie. I really like the music, and I appreciate B helping to introduce West African music and sound to the American musical lexicon. The album is really good, from start to finish the album flows very well. The album also is tied to the movie Black is King on Disney+. The movie makes the album even more vivid and a worthy listen. If you don’t like the album, you just don’t get the “sound” she’s going for here. It’s a great album. Give it a listen.

Been looking at the “criticisms” and it’s nothing but other artist’s stans trying to discredit and disrespect this woman. This project tells a story and reimagines the lion king story with respects to afrobeats and African culture. She’s doing something that virtually no one has done, bringing afrobeats to a mainstream American and worldwide audience. A genius move and she truly is a visionary. Y’all stans… y’all just sad and miserable 🤷🏾‍♂️
