I grew up with 80's music in the 1980's and didn't care for OMD's music. The new music, however is blowing my mind. This album is what the 80's should have been.

OMD: One thousand times, THANK YOU!!! I've been a fan for about 30 years and to this day I enjoy listening to all of their music. I can listen to this new purchase from beginning to end and have a big smile on my face. I can't wait for the concert!!! Again, thank you for being OMD.

It's like a mix between The Pacific Age and Architecture & Morality. OMD continues to write tunes that are catchy, poppy, yet not top 40. Although their stuff deserves more airplay. The View from Here clamours for attention-it is their opus for this album. A beautiful ballad well worth the price admission. Just hope they continue making beautiful melodies.

History of Modern, English Electric and now this. Amazing and I’ve love them all. A great return to form. So happy they continue to make me smile with such great works. What beautiful music. Truly thank you.

I didn't like it at first but then woke up with hooks in my head morning after morning. "Some day when all the wild horses have been tamed...." I'm still not a fan of "As We Open So We Close" but everything else is brilliantly and poignantly OMD. Amazing synthwork and a lot to think about.

I couldn't wait for this new release, especially after the last few albums. After years of following OMD and seeing them in concert in multiple cites I am quite the fan, OMD has a destinct sound that can be heard no matter which era you listen to. That being said, at first I wasnt quite sure what to think about their new work, The punishment of luxury, but now one thing I can say is their music has drawn me in like the first time I heard them. Their sound has me capivated and has captued my imagination once again..... I find myself waking up in the morning to their new tunes in my mind, this album has become the soundtrack of my current life. Congratulations to OMD for taking what they have learned from their most recent work and reminding us fans that the foundation to who they are is still alive.

Sounds like old OMD!!! Very relevant to the kids of 80's!!!

I want to like this so much more. A devoted fan since ’79 owning their entire discography. I simply feel OMD has fallen into a safe haven. Almost all of the new material since their reboot is pastiche and recycled. It’s time to be truly original and pure. Every song is over calculated and planned out versus feeling truly fresh. It’s so predictable….oh there’s the Kraftwerk song, there’s the Dazzleships song, there’s the choir, there’s the Stanlow song, and on and on. It’s painful how quick you know where things are going. The repeat continues with the concept songs (how many vocoders and computer voices can you pack in?) and even the sleeves are recycled pastiched Saville diagrams one diagonal at a time. OMD is an amazing band, I just wished they’d move on from their past and write fresh. Depeche has masterfully aged with grace and sound fresh as ever, but the Orchestra seems a little out of tune. :(
