Green Day is the best band period. and this is their best album, period. Who knows what they were in when they made this album, but this stuff is incredible

Cant argue with how influential this album is. Basically every 13 year old kid getting into alternative music is going to listen to Dookie. Most of the songs are super catchy and fun. But as I've gotten older I can't shake the feeling that most of Green Days music is for 12 year olds. That would be fine, but Billie Joe doesn't seem to realize the music is for 12 year olds. At least Blink-182 admits that their music is written for teenagers. The immature goofiness of the songs wear off after a while. "omg, he's singing about playing with himself ho ho ho!"
  • Good album, but..

Honestly, I enjoyed the first two albums more, but still a very solid album. I feel like it’s overrated, but not bad, I guess. Welcome to Paradise, Longview, Basket Case, and When I Come Around? Anyone? Yasssss

Best album of the 90s, hands-down. This album single-handedly paved the way for every punk, alternative and pop punk band after it. It’s is nearly 30 years-old and it not only still blows everything away, but it sounds like it was just released today. I wish they would go back to this sound.
