  • Amazing Album, Listened Countless Times.

Having listened to this album countless times, there are many reasons to enjoy the album. Radiohead revisited their unreleased songs, with many being performed live before ("Ful Stop", "True Love Waits"), they had access to the London Contemporary Orchestra, with tracks like "Burn the Witch" making exclusive use of the orchestra, putting it front and center in a song that was in the works since at least Hail to the Thief era. While many can put down the album as a boring listen, its where the album's beauty shines. Plagued with
  • Remember when they were a "rock" band?

I know they are the ultimate critic's darling. People fawn & fall over themselves giving them plaudits. If you want dreary, totally non-dynamic, music to fall asleep or injure oneself to, I would say this is it. Their sense of musical 'maturity' to me has absolutely no life to it. But I guess I just don't get them anymore. Obviously many many others feel much differently. "Cheers", he said icily and devoid of any emotion in his stoic English accent...
  • Really consistent album

Burn the witch sounds different from the album, However, I still believe it’s a great opener, we always need those stand out songs. Daydreaming is a really beautiful song, the piano, the violin, everything. However, it can be argued that Decks Dark is the gem of the album, the choir really shines here, the piano is also great here too. Desert Island Disk is underrated, but I don’t think it’s the best song, the song kinda grew on me though. Ful Stop is fantastic, especially when it gets to the climax, this is the AMSP song to groove to. Even though glass eyes is not really liked as much as the others, this short song delivers a lot, on first listen this song got me hooked. Identikit is fantastic, the choir singing “Broken hearts, make it rain”, and that guitar solo at the end are the highlights of the sing for me. The Numbers is kind of a weird song to listen to at first, as the beginning isn’t really special on first listen, but I think the song is good anyway, especially when the song hits the near-end point. Present Tense is one of the best songs on this album, the guitar, the lyrics, the choir, and even the percussion is 10/10. It is the general consensus that Tinker Tailor is the weakest song, even if I agree with that, I think it is still a great song, the ending is the best part. And now, True Love Waits, the song that Radiohead fans have been waiting to be put on a studio album for a long time, it has finally come on this album, and it comes strong. It’s different, as instead of being played with a guitar (like the live version), this time it is played with a piano, but that makes it even more depressing, this is one of the best vocal performances on this album by Thom Yorke, maybe even all of Radiohead, you can hear his broken voice, as we all know what happened Thom’s ex-wife, may she Rest In Peace.

Not bad its just that the records are few and far between and are a bit of a let down after 6 year waits. its like a part time project now they are sort of fading away as a real force in music unfortunately.

I've owned this album since it's release date, but can't believe I did not leave a review. Tinker Tailor is a beautifully haunting melody, what true sounds for the ear. Relax Jack

Pull out the pipe and slippers. Dream away. I hope this is the last of the ambiance albums. Please give Johnny back his bloody guitar
  • Ehhh....

Ambient, atmospheric, moody. All things that can describe music. But they are not usually things that define the music they describe. AMSP is engaging for many, it appears, but it seems more an opportunity for one to pronounce one’s own brilliance. “I get it, and you don’t, because I’m musically progressive, and you’re not!” What key is the 5th song on the album in, again? Time signature? Yeah. Thought so. But you knew that already...
