This truly is a landmark record that’s really good from start to finish! The vinyl & CD versions of this are the best way to listen as the sound is far more pure & superior! The reason I don’t give it five stars is the simple fact that The Wall is Floyd’s greatest work!!
  • Great album! Great band!

Beautiful album, I love it! You can not shuffle these songs though because they are connected to each song. Just so amazing very happy with my purchase! Happy 50th anniversary!

I can’t believe that one of the most iconic albums ever in the the history of rock music (well probably one of the most iconic albums in the entire world of the music industry)The Dark Side Of The Moon is 50 years old today! 50 years old! That is absolutely crazy! I can’t believe that it’s 50 years old! Literally it is a famous album and it stayed on the top 200 billboard charts for 15 years! The Dark Side Of The Moon is still a well known popular album today and am glad that newer generations (like me I’m only 14 almost 15 years old) listen to Pink Floyd and other classic rock bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones etc!

The Apple Music Review states Dark Side is “Interestingly light on rocking”. I take umbrage to the statement. Dark Side is classic Rock and Roll. I was a teen in the 70s…and a rocker, like all my friends in the decade. We “rocked out” to DS every bit the same as we ‘rocked’ to Zeppelin, or Aerosmith, or Queen, Skynyrd, Rush, or any other 70’s Rock. Listen to Gilmore’s flaming guitar riffs or Rich Wright’s mesmerizing keyboards on every song…that’s solid Rock! DS is not the Stones, but the Stones weren’t Skynyrd, and Skynyrd wasn’t Queen, or ELO, or Rush, or Kansas, Sabbath or Bowie. I submit Dark Side is one of the heaviest Rock albums of all-time. Certainly not “light on rocking”, Floyd took their sound to new heights on DS….Dizzying heights. Put your headphones on and enjoy. Pink Floyd’s Dark Side will “rock you” to your core.

All of the songs on the album are long instrumentals that have no real depth, but music “purists” will say that it’s really meaningful. This album is easily the worst one from them I’ve heard (compared to WYWH and The Wall, not to mention “Echoes”). Only good song is “The Great Gig in the Sky.” Watch The Wizard of Oz and save your money.
